eOne sells Nettheim's 'Hunter'

LONDON -- Entertainment One has secured a raft of territory sales for Daniel Nettheim's "The Hunter," which preemed at the Toronto Film Festival last week. Following its U.S sale to Magnolia at the fest, pic was also sold to U.K. (Artificial Eye), Japan (BMS), Canada (eOne), Germany (Ascot Elite), Greece (Strada), Turkey (Umut Sanat), Bulgaria/Romania (New Films), Poland (Kino Swiat), Indonesia/Vietnam (PT Parkit), India (Pictureworks) and the Middle East (ECS Film Distribution). Film is in active negotiations for Benelux, Scandinavia and Latin America. The psychological drama, toplining Willem Dafoe, Sam Neill and Francis O'Connor, was produced by Porchlight Films' Vincent Sheehan ("Animal Kingdom"). It sees Dafoe play a mercenary hired by a bio-tech firm to track down a rare, possibly extinct animal called the Tasmanian Tiger in the remote wilderness of Tasmania.
